3-Day Fall Retreat

In person

With Thai forest monks and meditation masters, Ajahn Da Nilpant, Phra Tavivat Sukhavatthano, assisted by psychologist, Michael Bresnan

This retreat comes highly recommended and offers an excellent opportunity to deepen your meditation practice by cultivating self-awareness over an extended period without distractions. The retreat will run from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Friday, October 3rd, from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM on Saturday, October 4th, and from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Sunday, October 5th.

Ajahn Da is an ordained Thai Forest Monk with decades of teaching experience and is currently the Abbott of our center in Redding, CT. Phra Tavivat Sukhavatthano, assisted by Michael Bresnan, a licensed psychologist who has practiced insight meditation for over 30 years, founded our centers in CT and MA. This retreat is open to both novice and experienced practitioners. Although the retreat will primarily be held in silence, there will also be Dharma talks and question-and-answer sessions. Following tradition for meditation retreats, all attendees will have a private interview with Ajahn Da to support their practice and further their journey. The retreat includes breakfast, lunch, dinner on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, and breakfast and lunch on Monday. Breakfasts will consist of bread, cereals, milk, and fruit. A full Thai lunch will be served daily, while dinner will feature soup and salad with bread and a selection of cheeses. A full kitchen is available for those who wish to bring their food.

Covid Policy

While we are doing our best to follow expert guidelines for making the environment as safe as possible, the spread of the virus is ultimately beyond our control, so you should make your own determination as to whether it is appropriate for you to come.

Advance Registration is Required

Because social distancing means limiting the number of people in the meditation hall at one time, you must sign up in advance to attend. You may register weeks in advance or right before a class, but you won’t be able to register if we’ve already reached our maximum.

Face Coverings

Facemasks are not required but are recommended when social distancing is not possible. Please follow the Centers for Disease Control and Connecticut state guidelines.

Maintain Social Distancing

Attendees are asked to mindfully maintain their distance from one another while on the property.
